i don\t know how can i build string but i know cat opcode function and
trimming % trim etc. but how can i make it work to pass the value of
encodedtokenexchange after reading that input xml
file am i doing something wrong by writing this in rpgle should i write
it in cl program using chgvar etc to pass these values in openssl?
also if possible if someone could just slightly modify my program
mentioned in link in my previous email then it would be much helpful to
focus me where exactly correction is needed also as mentioned earlier that
usropn is compilation error.

Do you know how to build strings in RPG? Add the open statement where it
is supposed to go. Go back and look at the examples you based your code on
if you don't know where that is. Then in debug look at what is in the CMD
variable right before the open runs. Until that statement has what you can
get to run interactively, you aren't going to get this to work.

i want that variable to have that value because that encoded
exchangetoken value keeps changing inside xml file so can't hardcode it in
my program logic.

let it be two different things but that variable does have that long\u3VtN.......dVA=='
encoded string in in i can see it\s value inside while debugging this
program and just before the openssl it has that long
value inside it so what can i do to pass this value in it secondly ifmy code
i use thar record instead of string1 and put usropn 5n second line of
after plist then it gives me compilation error:-"*RNF7062 30 1There
is no OPEN for a file that specifies user-controlled'
open; the File specification is ignored.

I don't think you understand how UNIXCMD works. It runs the command
you give it in pase, and then returns the standard out back to you.
If you want the command to be run to start like this:
echo
'u3VtNgfyWU9faZc3Iaa8ZWbE5UZCfmC17yA4MyW0ghflt9dNQNDpCcgMZiG/kXPE4vv2
CHL
93B4iKiODHxxdVA=='
then you need to pass it that. Your program has this:
echo encodedExchangeToken
Those are not the same two strings.
Also - You don't have USROPN on your UNIX file, so you aren't
actually even passing anything in as a command to be run.
Finally you are reading the result of the command into a variable
called record. The variable string1 isn't ever used in your program,
so it will never have a value.

i already interactively tested this command and it gives this
result:-
echo
'u3VtNgfyWU9faZc3Iaa8ZWbE5UZCfmC17yA4MyW0ghflt9dNQNDpCcgMZiG/kXPE4v
v2C HL 93B4iKiODHxxdVA==' | openssl enc -d -aes-128-ecb -K

c594c4a -nopad -nosalt -base64 -A
707fbe32-0dbc-41e0-888f-5bc40de8c20d2P9AMPCTQ4CZ ¢
and yes i am expecting variable encodedExchangeToken to pass this
value
'u3VtNgfyWU9faZc3Iaa8ZWbE5UZCfmC17yA4MyW0ghflt9dNQNDpCcgMZiG/kXPE4v
v2C HL 93B4iKiODHxxdVA==' to openssl command and write the
decrypted value in defined stand alone variable string1 which is
already defined in my program i just put.txt so that it should also
write the same value as a stream file in my directory path
'/home/i0rs01hu/string1.txt' as well also i don't have that ! i do
have | only not sure while pasting that code from editor to that
link how did it get changed.
