I think I am seeing more detail here. I can still see using subroutines, but in a very limited case. Let's say 5 lines or less - no use of variables that would better served by a local variable. Or if you wanted a return to leave the program and not just the subprocedure. (I bet that some would consider trying to duplicate that within a subprocedure a violation of structured programming.) And I can tolerate mixing subprocedures and subroutines. What I would recommend to someone new to subprocedures is NOT to use a subroutine for 3 months - use a subprocedure. Regardless of whether or not you perceive that it would be easier, clearer, etc. Until the three months are over, you don't have enough experience to make an informed decision.
