Endre, Don't even think twice about rehiring her. If she was that good, she will pick up the AS/400 commands quickly, especially if she has Sys/38 experience. The skills are the easy part. Good *people* are hard to find. This is, of course, assuming that your firm is in a cash position to be able to afford some bench/training time until you can place her. That's a metric that you or your company will have to work out yourselves. Perhaps you have a software conversion she can help out on, to start with. I'm also assuming that the lack of AS/400 experience is the only reason that you have reservations about this. There are a lot of training options. Find out which type is effective for her, she will know if she can learn effectively from a book or tape or whether a class is best. Good luck, Kathleen Kostuck ___________________ (414) 402-0820 fax (414) 495-4986 kkostuck@execpc.com AS/400 Solutions Secretary - Wisconsin Midrange Computer Professionals Association ___________________ ---------- > From: Endre Enyedy <e_enyedy@netside.net> > To: MIDRANGE-L@midrange.com > Subject: How to (re)train? > Date: Monday, November 16, 1998 6:51 PM > > Hello: > > We just had an offer from a one time collegue of us, to return to work with > us.
