Hi nina,

I can see you've had some bad experiences here.  Certainly, I agree, theft
of intellectual property falls under the category of dishonest.

But, as a newly minted independent and former 10 year employee of a local
consulting firm (a firm founded by a former consulting firm employee, and
one of his clients, a startup that I once took a chance on as the first
experienced programmer to come in and become immediately billable with no
training),  I just couldn't let that 'leopard' remark go.  This is a sore
spot for me as well, because I bent over backwards and went to unheard-of
lengths to make sure I could leave with a clear conscience.  

I'm not trying to start an argument, just present a different perspective.
And, I admit, stand up for myself and refuse to allow anyone to depict me
as unethical, even with an oblique reference.
