We do shut down the apply jobs.
The objects locked are not in our "data" libraries but are in the HA's
data library.

Hi Rob
why would you not shut down the HA apply jobs while you do your save or at
least while you get a sync point for your SWA ?

Rob,
I'm not aware of a list such as that because of IBM's favorite answer:
depends......" and in this case it truly does.areas
You picked on two of the biggest object types in your note, but data
would qualify as well on that list. Many folks love to read the dataarea
into RPG with a lock, update it and release. If the save catches itthe
during
the lock, it will not back up the data area object.
UDFS falls into the "maybe" category. Again depends on the status at
time.when
There are a number of other objects in the IFS that will not back up
open as well. That list is entirely depended on the system and what'sRob
running.
Then again, you already know all of that.

Is there a list of objects which are normally skipped by Save While
if they are still locked? *USRIDX and *USRQ objects seem to be anissue.
Is there some IBM documentation somewhere on this?list
