I'm not certain I would use the "SAVACT(*SYSDFN)" or "SAVACTWAIT(10)"
parameters but it's OK that way as long as you're aware of the potential
issues. With one library in the list SAVACT(*SYSDFN) is not really doing
anything that *LIB would not anyway.

As to only saving user indexes once a quarter, that would not be my first
choice. You may have to consider shutting down Mimix for a few minutes to
get those objects on tape, then restart it. Then again, are those objects
really needed for a DR recovery? If the Mimix system would recreate as
needed, then no, if it relies on those objects to be there and cannot
recreate them, then a more periodic backup is in order.

Don't you have a SAN now? Why not flash copy the partition and back up
that? Since it could be in a restricted save state, you can get any object
needed.

Subject: RE: List of objects not saved with SWA while locked.

HA vendor is assuming I am doing my SWA wrong. I replied with CRTSAVF
SAVF(YOURLIB/YOURFILE) SAVOBJ OBJ(YOURUSRIDX) LIB(HALIB) DEV(*SAVF)
OBJTYPE(*USRIDX)
SAVF(YOURLIB/YOURFILE) SAVACT(*SYSDFN) SAVACTWAIT(10) and asked them what I
am doing wrong.

Objects are locked by their software while following their recommendations
for saving a target HA system.

I also asked them if it was an issue if the objects only get backed up once
a quarter during our restricted state save.
