I'm trying to apply these two PTF immediately.
MF64402 - SI65556 5770SS1 *DEPEND
SI65556 - Prerequisite Licensed Internal code fixes - MF64402 5770999
There both dependent on each other.
Can this be done without an IPL?
I can't pick *ALL for products when selecting multiple PTFs from two products.
SELECT parameter must be *ALL when LICPGM is *ALL.
Paul

Vern / Justin,
V7R3 latest cum and all groups.
Only missing two of the V7R3 Netserver PTFs.
MF64402
SI65556
On the Windows side, I have no idea, out of my domain.
After more testing of mapped drives.
From Win7 Pro SP1 to V7R3 - working 100% of the time, no issues.
From Win10, Win2008 Server, Win2008 ServerR2, Win2012 Server, Win2016 Server, mixed and intermittent results.
Production LPAR is scheduled for V7R1 to V7R3 upgrade this coming weekend.
I really prefer not to set the I back to SMB1.
My question on the below, is this for printer shares and file shares, or just printer shares?
Disable SMB2 on the IBM i server.
In V7R3 Memo to users, under the IBM i NetServer Shared Printer Changes section, the following is documented:
There is a new version of the Server Message Block (SMB) protocol. Version 2 (SMB2) has been added and is now the default that is negotiated with IBM i NetServer clients. The following command can be used to permanently disable SMB2 support for IBM i NetServer:
CALL QZLSMAINT PARM('40' '1' '0x80')
NOTE: This will disable SMB2 for both Printer and File shares.
a. Stop NetServer: ENDTCPSVR SERVER(*NETSVR)
b. Disable NetServer SMB2: CALL QZLSMAINT PARM('40' '1' '0x80')
c. Start NetServer: STRTCPSVR SERVER(*NETSVR)
d. NetServer client's (user PC) that were mapped using SMB2 protocol will need to reboot their PC because of Windows security precautions.
If for some reason disabling SMB2 does not help alleviate the problem, then SMB2 can be re-enabled using the same steps as above, but replacing the command in step b with the following command:
CALL QZLSMAINT PARM('40' ' 2 ' '0x80')

Paul, Justin did say he got all the Netserver recommended fixes, as well
- so that was more specific than has been said, seems to me - I'll be passing this along to our systems admin,
My main concern is getting windows of any flavor up to date - one of our developers is on Win 7 and was able, IIRC, to connect to the 7.3 box.
I'm on Win 10 and could not connect.
We have central management of how we do updates for our Windows laptops
- I'm not really certain that I __can__ get the most current for sure on the laptop.
We did put SMB back to version 1, and now all works. But I'd like to bring it up to the latest that IBM supports, as I'm sure you do, as well.
Cheers
Vern

Exactly.
No one is posting specifics, only stating they are applying fixes.
What fixes?
My original post stated I'm working fine from Windows 7, 8, 10 to V7R3.
Only WinServ2008 R2 to V7R3,(latest cum and all groups) is not working.

Maybe Paul is asking which version of Windows.

2. Yes. My PC said it was current. I did a check anyway, and it found more updates to install.

Justin,
1) What OS on your Windows side?
2) Did you apply any Windows fixes/updates?
Thanks
Paul

I got all the groups, and then went to "IBM i 7.3 Recommended Fixes - IBM i NetServer" (http://www-01.ibm.com/support/docview.wss?uid=nas8N1021279) and got every fix that I didn't already have.
I already had the latest Meltdown/Spectre PTF's and firmware, so I applied those too.
