If you get recent fixes on 7.3 and your Windows machines it's not such an

How does one know for sure, in advance? The MTU /still/ does not
mention SMB2 issues vis a vis Windows File Explorer. I just checked it.

But the knee jerk reaction many people did was open their 7.3 machines to
all sorts of security holes by disabling SMB2 and going back to SMB1.

SMB2 to Win7 completely killed a mission critical application.
What choice did I have?
