McAfee and Norton are da debil...i prefer Avast and Ad-aware less problems
like the ones you describe below and do a darn good job of protecting
against malicious code...(well not including the inadvertent malicious
code i try to write) sometimes you can really hose things unintentionally
when learning C and it's variants 8^)

Thanks,
Tommy Holden

Ah!!!!!!!!!!!! Unbelievable. After I disabled EVERYTHING I could in
McAfee, it finally got all the way through and is now prompting me for the
service tools user/password. I will update the wiki with heavy emphasis
on
this so somebody else doesn't need to waste an entire day just trying to
connect with Ops Cons.

Thanks for all your help Lukas. Hopefully it is smooth sailing from here.

That looks about right.

Have you ensured that there's no firewall, are connected to the right
port and that OpsCon has the right serial number?

You might try connecting with a direct connection cable instead of
using a Hub or Switch inbetween.

You might also consider using Wireshark to see if you see any BOOTP
requests from your IBM i. It might be necessary to perform a 65+21
procedure.
