First is to contact IBM and purchase a new Ethernet card. IBM will install,
probably for a price. Once installed, CRTLINETH to create the line
description. If all you need is TCP/IP running you will not need to create
a controller for the line. Next type "CFGTCP" and press enter. This will
bring you to the menu for configuring TCP and all the services you need.
Start with option 1, 2, then 20 to configuring applications. I can help
further once you have the Ethernet cards installed.

Subject: AS400 Newbie Help

Currently, they are trying somewhat to phase out terminal connectivity
via twinax cable to at least PC connectivity w/ emulation cards (BOS,
etc) via Twinax cable. However, some of the offices would benefit
greatly from ethernet connectivity. These offices have either Model 9402
400, Model 9401 150, or Model 9401 170. I have done the install on the
Model 9402 400 but not any of the others. None of these machines in any
of the offices (except one) have ethernet cards in them and they have
been not-allowed up until last week. Now, I am getting requests upon
requests to install these cards and get them setup. Unfortunatly when I
setup the 9402 400, I was under contract to not record the commands I
used, and we also were forced at that time to use DLC.
