This is a multi-part message in MIME format. -- [ Picked text/plain from multipart/alternative ] Id like to start off by saying that I am a real AS400 newbie. My ten years experience with computers is pretty much PC related. Im fairly compotent but I have only been working with this company that uses AS400s since september. <Background> Currently, they are trying somewhat to phase out terminal connectivity via twinax cable to at least PC connectivity w/ emulation cards (BOS, etc) via Twinax cable. However, some of the offices would benefit greatly from ethernet connectivity. These offices have either Model 9402 400, Model 9401 150, or Model 9401 170. I have done the install on the Model 9402 400 but not any of the others. None of these machines in any of the offices (except one) have ethernet cards in them and they have been not-allowed up until last week. Now, I am getting requests upon requests to install these cards and get them setup. Unfortunatly when I setup the 9402 400, I was under contract to not record the commands I used, and we also were forced at that time to use DLC. <What I am trying to find out> I have not been able to find (even with the help of the great google) a good step by step guide on what I need to do. I really do the PC work for this company but they have no as400 specialists (their team is in CA and stays in CA) and there are no AS400 specialists or even compotent IBM certs around here either! If anyone could link me to a very complete guide (Sadly, it should include this is how you bring the as400 down so as to be ready to install the ethernet card - to what commands to issue to vary the card on and set the IP address, etc). If such a guide does not exist - im interested in compiling such a guide with help. I apriciate your help and your patients with an as400 n00b. --
