Well, this is kind of a continuation from Friday - let me bring you all up to speed Friday I installed an ethernet card in a 9402-400 AS/400. This was to be my 4th install. Unfortunatly, something went totally screwy. When I installed the card, and IPL'd the system like I had before the error B1006010 came up. When I removed the card, B1954504 came up. Eventually we had to call IBM and had a local IBM hardware tech come out. With just the control panel, main board, and power - still got a B1xx error ("any deviced attached to bus 1). Well, he ordered a new mainboard. He plugged it in with just control panel, mainboard and power and got to a different error (prolly no CPU card, etc). He plugged everything in and got the B1954502 error again. He has now ordered another new mainboard, new CPU card, and new control panel just in case. Now, today I go to another office to very hesitantly install another ethernet card into a 9402-400. Short story long: SAME ISSUES! Im freaking out here. After talking to the IBM tech he thinks I did one or two things wrong - maybe. He thinks I may not have unplugged the system but that's poo cause I know I did since I had to move it to another room to work on it on both systems. The other possability is I did not wait long enough for the system to power down. This I can not argue because I did like I did in the other offices, PWRDWNSYS and pulled power on the system shortly after the terminals lost login screens. The odds are I am a retard. I need serious help. If any of you are cert. IBM bus partners in the USA I may have to give you a ring :{ Thanks again guys - you all own Oh - thanks for the great links for TCPIP startup on IPL - I apriciate it
