Jeff: IF the APPC ctl/device are both active, then I would say that it is not a router issue. The vanguard routers do the spoofing locally before they pass the XID over the WAN. This is obviously happening. If the Vanguard reports that the HPAD is up, then they are happily passing SNA packets over the WAN. If he varys off the APPC controller and device, he should see the HPAD /TPAD drop in the routers. Also weird that the RWC goes active. Could this be a mode issue. The max sessions for the mode have been reached? Weird that an IPL did not "fix" the problem. cjg Carl J. Any ideas? Seen this before, had to power cycle the Routers while the AS/400 line was varied off. This was because the routers were doing Spoofing (DLS) of the SNA/SDLC connection and not all the XID packets are being sent end to end, but rather most of the packets never leave the building and once the pair get out of sequence they would never recover even though they looked okay to the network ops guys.. Since, you describe a multiple configuration I would recommend powering all of the routers down to clear the hang condition in the network.
