It appears that some folks on this email thread misunderstood my comments defending the reputation of the channel partners (affiliates). I apologize if I was not clear. In a prior email to the group there was a cautionary message that in affect said, understand the language and intent in your software contract with Infor before deciding the source of services. There was a subsequent email suggesting that maybe channel partners should not be part of this email-based support group because they might use it as a excuse to go phishing (trolling) for business. My response (I thought) clearly stated that those types of activities were (first) against the rules of this group, and (second) unprofessional. I followed that with a statement that the channel partners work together to maintain their professional approach.
Now, please, let's get on with the business of helping each other solve issues and have a positive impact on our employer's businesses.
Best Regards

I would suggest you contact Infor or an affiliate about licensing. I do not feel it is an appropriate topic for this group.
Also, in the 18 years I have worked with this product the channel partners and affiliates have been very helpful.

That is exactly how I read it Vanessa. I too am an independent service contractor and would to understand what that means.

I believe the issue is that Brad indicates that using service providers who are not Infor Partners is a violation of Infor's license agreement and "may carry a significant financial remedy." As an independent service contractor I'd like an explanation of what that means.

May I ask what prompted this statement on this mailing list? I don't recall seeing any discussion of 'personnel' in this thread prior to this rather threatening comment. There had been recommendations to make inquiries of Infor affiliates, but nothing about approaching anyone else. I hope this isn't an indication of hostility to user groups on the part of certain affiliates.

Just a caution that using non-Infor Partner personnel may violate the Infor license agreement and may carry a significant financial remedy for third party access of the customer's Infor XA system.
