Keith,
A couple of questions:

Have you had to use the maintenance or is it "insurance" for primary
printers that rarely skip a beat?

Have you checked the replacement cost on these or newer printers?

Do you have room for additional printers? We recently bought a printer
identical to our main system printer for about the cost of a 1 year
maintenance contract. We use both printers to spread the workload and the
odds of both of them "crapping out" at the same time is something that I'm
willing to gamble on.

Subject: IBM Printer maintenance contracts

Our current contracts for maintenance on our IBM 4234
& 5224 printers is up in a few months. The contract
is througth IBM. Is there any competition for these
maintenance contracts? Are there any other companies
that offer maintenance contracts on IBM printers in
the Western PA area?

My second question is: Do most of you have contracts
on this type of equipment? The equipment we have is
older but in good working condition. These
maintenance contracts seem fairly expensive but cover
both parts and labor. I am wondering if others feel
these type of contracts are critical.

Thanks,

Keith
