It would and would mean in order to work you would need to update your plugin to work with that version of LPEX. There is a minimum version of the LPEX you can make your plugin support but then you don't get to use the newer features. Look in the Help -> About area for the LPEX version of the others system or better yet get them upgraded to your version.

Thanks, Matt

Maybe just installing into the plugin directory would have worked if my colleagues machines were the same version of Eclipse / RDi / JRE but as they are a version behind perhaps that scuppered it.

I'll try the dropin method on Monday and see what happens...

have given my plugin to others and its working as intended. And I
have installed another's plugin on my system. I started with the
plugin Buck created and did nothing more than put it into the plugins
folder. This does not mean there isn't something else that makes it
work for me but I only followed the WIKI that Buck put together. I
do, do the plugin versioning with the date appended.

However, I have installed other plugins from vendors or open source
and they have had troubles with those plugins even though the install
was supposed to be the same.

For my own plugins I do nothing more than load the latest version
into the base eclipse plugin folder not the dropins.

I would expect that to work for a machine that already has
your plugin working. But, I would not expect that to work for a
machine that has never seen your plugin before.

Sincerely,

Dave Clark
