I still have WDSCi 7.0 loaded, so I started it up to check. Data structure lengths don't show in its outline. I also tried the static outline in 9.0.1, and they don't show in that, either. Me, I always lose the argument that there was a bug in the spec, especially with IBM. <grin>

Hmmmm - I'm surprised you consider it new function. The old RPG xref data that outline view used to be based on contained that information as by definition a DS is an alpha field whose length is the sum of its parts (or the declared length if one was given.
Can't go back to the old version but I thought that used to be included in outline.
