GeorgeFarr says: Existing SWMA custonmers will receive x number of user
licenses depending on the tier - for example, a P05 customer will get 4 user
licenses for ILE, heritage compilers, and ADTS (ADTS= SEU, PDM, SDA, and
RLU).
Just so I understand this correctly, there aren't any "no additional charge"
statements made for RDi like was made for ADTS, correct? Or re-worded, if I
want RDi I have to pay $795 per user regardless of my tier or anything else?
If that is true, which I am guessing it is, then I can see how some shops
are going to have to make some serious decisions in the next two years as it
relates to their future RPG development tools as it will become fairly
expensive to have both ADTS and RDi licenses. And of those purchased RDi
licenses, are they operating on "named users" or "concurrent users"? If it
is named then it just became one heck of a pain in the butt for consultants
like myself - who is going to pay to give their consultants an RDi license
when they only do 100 hours of work for them a year?
For anybody on the IBM team: As this is the new pricing structure and you
will most likely have some decent jing with which to build new RPG/Systemi5
specific features, where do I formally declare the features I want in coming
versions of RDi and/or RDi-SOA?
