I have not done any VARPG, but how would this statement/scenario differ from
a regular green screen app?  I am assuming you can call other RPG service
programs from VARPG and that being the case you should be able to keep the
code in your screen program to a minimal.  Feel bad for anybody that wrote
business logic in their presentation tier now that IBM *might* be releasing
it to the pasture.

My answer to the question, 'Is VA-RPG worth looking into?', would be not at
this time.

It might work for simple applications but not much more.  It is not
object-oriented, which becomes more of an issue the more complex your
application becomes.  We have one application and it crashes persistently.
It also does not support EIM, which is holding us back.

The latest planning statement eludes to some future overhaul but there is no
telling if and when that will happen.
