index should be fine...

But the index probably doesn't have the same record format as the PF.

Generate your DS from the index and it should work.

Could it be because you are chaining to a LF but the DS is based on the PF?

The result data structure DSOEDTLI17 does not include a subfield in
position
1 for record format OEDTLF.
