That's wise and enlightened of you.

You said "there's always some other deal killer to fall back on". My
attitude is: Why not keep chipping away at them?

I'm ill equipped to demolish someone heartstrings. I enter these
threads typically to address differences between 'I heard that...' and
'this is how it is'. I should rethink that, given my inability to see
the difference between emotion and reason.

As humans, we use emotion in our reasoning, whether we want to or not.
(I believe it's generally best if we realize it and consciously
account for it. And our emotional well-being is definitely worth
something, and deserves to be figured into costs and benefits.)

My position regarding RDi and SEU has been: The Mr. Xs you described
may never be converted. And there's nothing wrong with that. You and
I seem to be mostly in agreement on those points. My angle is that I
would like to see IBM succeed, I would like to see RDi succeed, I
would like to see advancement on just about any front. The more
modern features of RPG are in that mix, for sure. I present my
beliefs (often wrong, of course) on what would be best to achieve
those things.
