But there are people who haven't been reading on-line discussions for years
and years. If the post in question was the first post that I ever read from
this forum, I would probably be very intimidated and may not be inclined to
ask a 'simple' question. Some of the more simple questions provide fodder
for some of the most interesting discussions that I've seen. We all know
Scott's, as well as many others'   knowledge and experience are invaluable.
But  sometimes, it's hard not to take the comments of such brilliant people
personally.

Tracy: Those of use who've been reading on-line discussions for
years and years have learned not to take on-line discussions too
seriously or too personally. It's best to concentrate on the
technical content of the discussion and not the style.
