Peter and Mike
Thanks for your help. This was originally a RPGIII program submitted to batch
in the CL.
Well I tried rewriting the program without the switch and just passed the
parameter to
the RPG Module. So really I'm getting no errors, I'm just not getting the data
I was looking
for. I have been looking back at the old program and was just trying to figure
out what was
different between using the switches vs passing a parm (I hate switches also)
Now I think I
will just have to go into my program and look for these indicators (I did
convert it to RPGIV)
Thanks for letting me know about those indicators. That will be a big help in
solving my problem.

Thanks

spammers not welcome !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hi Troy,

The job switches correspond to indicators U1 - U8 in RPG. The old fashioned
way of having user-controlled open's for files in RPG was to specify one of
these indicators on the F-spec.

Also, the program can use these indicators to determine various actions just
like any other indicator, e.g. IF *INU1 = *OFF...

What kind of error are you getting?
