Might be different slightly in ILE RPG, but in old style RPG, each switch
equates to indicators U1 to U8. You could control the opening of files on F
specs by specifying Ux in the user controlled open parameter, or condition calc
specs with indicator Ux. Sure it will be similar. Personally I hate switches,
as passing a parameter makes it a lot more obvious what is going on, rather
than using something set externally to the program.
