Wow, that brings back memories! Switches show up in your program as indicators U1 through U8. When you see code based on your indicator (I see you are setting on U1) that code is dependant on the switch. It was often used so that you could write a program that would run through once without updating files so you could check the results. Like if you wanted to show what payroll would look like without actually printing checks. The test set runs a pass with indicators one way, the live set runs with the indicators another.
