>> Right you are! Compile any SQL RPG program and ask for the listing. You'll see the final results of the pre-compiler's work there Not really - you won't see the "compiled" SQL code that does the real work. Can't remember exactly where it is stored, in the program's associated space probably. There is no way you can write your own pre-compiler - you could write something to generate the same RPG code as the pre-compiler does but that wouldn't do anything 'cos all the bits under the covers would be missing. You could generate calls to the SQL CLI APIs (see the ubiquitous redbook for examples) but I doubt that it would be as efficient. Your efforts would be better spent filling in reader comment cards for the SQL manuals and telling them the current situation needs fixing! +--- | This is the RPG/400 Mailing List! | To submit a new message, send your mail to RPG400-L@midrange.com. | To subscribe to this list send email to RPG400-L-SUB@midrange.com. | To unsubscribe from this list send email to RPG400-L-UNSUB@midrange.com. | Questions should be directed to the list owner/operator: david@midrange.com +---
