Hans, >So far, a small (Florida-style) majority seems to favor BIFs Hey, I'm from Florida. Although I also know how to follow an arrow to a hole. Must be my training in flowcharts... >so using the MI builtins should be no more >difficult for the average RPG programmer. Perhaps it's not even worth >including in the next enhancement survey. Scott and Barbara point out the obvious: the ability to accept a variable number of operands. In that respect, the BIF would be an improvement. Still that can currently be worked around with a service program routine which takes a variable number of arguments and uses the MI builtins to return a result. So it still falls in the camp of something I wouldn't vote to spend very much of my next $100 towards. But presuming it is cheap, add it to the proposed enhancement list.
