I believe all these changes miss the point. Some may consider this a little
off topic.

What the AS400 needs to be modern is a Graphical Thin client, we need to be
able to write programs on the AS400 (in rpg?) that present data graphically,
on workstations or the internet, RPG is an excellent way of getting data,
into and out of the database, what it can't do is display it in a modern
fashion to our users, so we have to jump through hoops, to achieve this.

We need Graphical Emulation not 5250, Graphical printer output not DDS or
AFP IPDS, I know we harp on about green screen being more efficient for data
entry, but we have lost that battle, until this is supplied on the AS then
RPG and the AS400 will not get the success that it deserves. Also we should
be able to use SQL the way that VB and Delphi programmers do so a subfile
could be linked to an SQL statement, and datasets manipulated, within RPG.
