> GO e-RPG! Woohoo!!! If the story (abridged version.. <bg>) of the AS/400 I have is right, then I can see why IBM doesn't like it. A guy has an idea for a machine that is easily upgradable. (we all know the guy...) IBM says "Ya, whatever, give it a try, but it won't work." Well, it does work, and better than probably expected (TIMI RULES!!!). But, since it wasn't IBM's baby, and they didn't think it would work, then they are begrudged. Don't push the machine. (poor frank...) I've seen it too. I spoke with a couple IBMers after my book came out. They said "oh, you're the 'e-rpg' guy.". I said yes, and if they wanted a deal on a few thousand compies, or to make it a redbook to let me know. Their response... "huh... whatever..." Maybe it wasn't their intetion, but shoulders felt cold. The phrase "too big for your britches" comes to mind. Well, let's just say that eRPG is selling better than any redbook, and way more than any other AS/400 book on the market now. I'm not bragging, just pointing out that if you give people want they want, they'll eat it up like candy... If IBM wants rights to the term eRPG, I'll sell it cheap. :) The easyibm CGI site (http://www.easy400.ibm.it) started using it and is very interested... But then again, that's a site that went off the norm from IBM and they probably don't support so much, but should. It's funny.. talk to a Jr. Programmer and working for IBM is only a dream. Talk to a Sr. Programmer (or most on this list) and working for IBM is always a nightmare. ;) Brad +--- | This is the RPG/400 Mailing List! | To submit a new message, send your mail to RPG400-L@midrange.com. | To subscribe to this list send email to RPG400-L-SUB@midrange.com. | To unsubscribe from this list send email to RPG400-L-UNSUB@midrange.com. | Questions should be directed to the list owner/operator: david@midrange.com +---
