I recently was given the "C" source for doing data encryption in a somewhat
compatible format to RC4. I also have a VB version. I plan on writing a
RPGIV version to work with my sockets applications. It would be very nice
to have XOR, OR, AND... for this project. But for now, BITON/BITOFF will
have to do.

BITON/BITOFF?

Why not use hex representation(i.e. bitoff '01234567' is synonomous to
move x'00' to
one byte result field.) This beats the heck out of the bitoff/biton
sequence unless
you are using only certain and not all eight bits in the result field.
