Eric,

PF contains fields:

fld1, fld2, fld3, .... of which fld3 is a timestamp field.

LF does not contain fld3(the timestamp field) and
when a record is written(added) through the LF the 
timestamp field is populated by the DB mgr?

Does this mean that all that is required is to
define fld3 as a timestamp data type field
and let the system produce the output?
