Well, by default *IN01 will be *off after this line, but *IN01 will be
defined.

Sometimes I have pulled in old block of code wich does error checking. Its
origin may be from an old on-line program where *IN01 was set on under some
condition wich may not exist anymore.
Many lines conditioned with 01 or N01 may exist and the 2 hours needed to
clean the code may not be available today. An 7030 error (*IN01 not
defined) can be avoided by moving *IN01 into *IN01. This is a neutral move,
for definition only.

The 99N99 line in another message has another origin.
One problem with Sharing Access paths is that the first program using a file
will open the file for the programs lower in the stack.
The first program may only need input, other functions are needed lower.

So:

99N99 WRITE FILE1
99N99 UPDAT FORMAT1
99N99 DELET FORMAT1

will open the file properly without ever executing the Write, Update, Delete
functions. Ugly? It works!
