  • Subject: RPGLE pgm getting parms without any being passed?

I am working with a software package. It uses a command to attach an RPGLE
pgm to a file as a trigger pgm.

It works fine if that is the only trigger pgm attached. The problem is the
RPGLE pgm has a *ENTRY accepting parameters (that are defined in the pgm in
a data structure), but there are no parms passed to the pgm.

I am trying to add the RPGLE pgm in a call statement to an existing
(homegrown) RPG program that is currently being used as a trigger pgm to
the same file. But, it bombs because it cannot find the parms (pointer
errors).

How does the RPGLE program work as a stand alone trigger program when there
are no parameters passed????

I can probably alter the RPGLE pgm to call the homegrown RPG pgm to
accomplish what they both need to do, but
I am at a loss to know how the RPGLE pgm works without passing parms.

Phyllis
