<Snip> >I am trying to add the RPGLE pgm in a call statement to an existing >(homegrown) RPG program that is currently being used as a trigger pgm to >the same file. But, it bombs because it cannot find the parms (pointer >errors). > >How does the RPGLE program work as a stand alone trigger program when there >are no parameters passed???? Phyllis Use the Program Status Data Structure. There is a field *PARMS. It tells you how many parms were passed. If it is equal to 0, It was called with out parms(and BTW, don't reference them in the program in that case.) If it is 2, then it was called via the Trigger. Having said that. I think it should be two different programs (the guts of what it does, ) One called from a small "Stub" which is the trigger, and by your other application.
