We have replaced an i system (sorry) with a Power unix system (java). I
need to archive many thousands of source members in a way that is
searchable and easy to view.
We expect occasional verification of logic for years to come.
No $$ for a real product - but so far Notepad ++ seems best option, with
text file names like
Library_SourceType_TextDescription.txt
ABCLIB_RPGLE_Process_Provider_IRS_Matching_file.txt
This is mostly RPG400, CLP, DDS, CMD, Menus, etc, Some free ILE..
Exporting to text files is simple enough.
I would imagine others have been through this - any better options?
Need a "supported" tool, so some older open source are not being looked at.
This shop moving off Microsoft development suites.
Offline comments may be better.
