The internal search function is temporarily non-functional. The current search engine is no longer viable and we are researching alternatives.
As a stop gap measure, we are using Google's custom search engine service.

These are the 3 values we use, too, that I couldn't remember the names of.
Those values are entirely too long! Although IT would prefer something MUCH shorter (around 20 minutes or so), due to user complaints (ie screams) our values are:
QINACTITV 90 Jobs remain inactive and on-screen for 90 minutes
(Long enough for a good lunch)
QINACTMSGQ *DSCJOB
QDSCJOBITV 60 Disconnected jobs remain available for an additional 60 minutes
That's a total of 2-1/2 hours-- good for a 3-martini lunch, or a very boring meeting!
These only affect interactive sessions.
I've always felt that anyone walking away and leaving their system unlocked should beware that -anyone- can sneak over to their desk and send eMail in their name...

Subject: Re: Disconnect job / end job question on locks
So let's say I have the following:
QINACTITV 300
QINACTMSGQ *DSCJOB
QDSCJOBITV 240
After 5 hours (300 minutes), inactive jobs will be disconnected.
After an ADDITONAL 4 hours (240 minutes), a disconnected job will be ended.
In the above scenario, it will be 9 hours before an inactive job is
actually ended.
Right?
