The internal search function is temporarily non-functional. The current search engine is no longer viable and we are researching alternatives.
As a stop gap measure, we are using Google's custom search engine service.
If you know of an easy to use, open source, search engine ... please contact support@midrange.com.
There are several system values that control the timing for this.
QINACTITV *SEC Inactive job time-out

QINACTMSGQ
https://www.ibm.com/support/knowledgecenter/en/ssw_ibm_i_73/rzarl/rzarltmmq.htm
QDSCJOBITV *SYSCTL Time interval before disconnected jobs end
https://www.ibm.com/support/knowledgecenter/en/ssw_ibm_i_72/rzarl/rzarldscjob.htm
I also created a job monitor.
All Interactive user jobs end after 12 hours.
Some of our old apps use job start date/time, and if there changes that go into effect at midnight, there job would not sense the change.

Subject: RE: Disconnect job / end job question on locks
Honestly I think the average user may be more receptive to this than in
the past. My bank's website does this. And several other websites. Some
so quick it drives me a little bonkers but that's just the way it is.
Of course killing that query from hell which takes 10 minutes may be a
little frustrating, but it may not be a bad thing from a system resource
perspective.
Then again, killing our Infor month end job, which is only ran by a very
intense guy in systems, may not end well for you.
