The internal search function is temporarily non-functional. The current search engine is no longer viable and we are researching alternatives.
As a stop gap measure, we are using Google's custom search engine service.
If you know of an easy to use, open source, search engine ... please contact support@midrange.com.

We already have PTL installed on a box here, I'm disappointed that IBM
have chosen to break most of the links to the old PartnerWorld porting
site, where this was available.
In the QAPTL library is a source file called README - that has some
installation and configuration information. Then there are the IFS
pars in /QOpenSys/QIBM/ProdData/DeveloperTools &
/QIBM/ProdData/DeveloperTools that have some docs for some of the
stuff.
I think most of this has been covered, but to summarize...
X Windows support is built into PASE for i (SS1 Option 33). Just set the
DISPLAY environment variable to point to your X server (i.e. "export
DISPLAY=<myXservert>:<display>" and then start your X application on i.
If you have 5733SC1 installed and are running the sshd daemon (STRTCPSVR
*SSHD on 6.1 and beyond), you can also connect via ssh and have X directed
back to the desktop where you started the ssh client by using "ssh -Y" or
"ssh -X".
If you don't have an X server such as a Linux, AIX, etc desktop or cygwin on
Windows you can use the VNC X server included with 5799PTL. If you're on
V5R4 or later be sure to get the V5R4 version of 5799PTL. The VNC server in
V5R4 of 5799PTL is much improved performance-wise from the earlier V4R5M1
version. 5799PTL is a free web download from here:
http://www14.software.ibm.com/webapp/download/search.jsp?rs=iseriest
Finally, we're aware that the 5799PTL documentation links are broken and
we're working to get them back... At least the 5799PTL support email
address still works: rchqaptl at us dot ibm dot com so feel free to write
with questions.
