Here's a quote of the original request:
I am working on a client's system (V5R1) and, to install some software, need to create a user profile which is ten characters long. However, the system truncates it to 8 characters for the benefit of OfficeVision (which they don't use and which I don't think is installed).
The problem is the user profile length, not the password.

Agreed, but I don't think that should inhibit your ability to use the CRTUSRPRF command for a *USRPRF with 10 characters in the password, or am I missing something?

Doesn't the directory entry (WRKDIRE) have a maximum of 8 characters?
