As I originally reported, it was a client's system and I had not worked on it before. I don't use ASTLVL(*BASIC) on my system and it hadn't occurred to me that anhyone esle might do so. I will recommend that they change their system.

I wonder if IBM was still marketing OV when V5R1 was released?

Anyway, problem solved now so many thanks.

Huh! I've seen that the heading is different when you use ASTLVL(*BASIC) - something I do not recommend for hardly anyone on any screen, BTW, but that's my humble opinion. Notice that it says "Work with User Enrollment", which is an OfficeVisision concept. It also puts an entry in the system directory.

But, as John noted, CRTUSRPRF did not have the problem. I verified this - the assistance level on WRKUSRPRF (which, BTW, is an additional parameter on the command) does not have an affect on CRTUSRPRF. So, if you MUST have *BASIC assistance level, go get some therapy and use CRTUSRPRF.
