It didn't occur to me that he was asking for a PC program, nor does it seem reasonable that a PC program can "...retrieve Computer name / Workgroup from the AS/400" without first being connected to the AS/400 and then calling this API perhaps through the Distributed Program Call/Remote Command host server or similar means, e.g., OLE DB. Something approximating nbtscan would help in exploring what's on the network. Does it identify how the AS/400 is configured?
