I don't know the answer to your question, but you are likely keeping this older system powered off. Set the power scheduler to IPL once a week, and then power off, and the system's cause of senility will go away.

Hello,
I have an older machine that periodically forgets it's system password. Last time was about three years ago, so I've forgotten how I got
it re-generated.
Who at IBM owns the system password generator?
I tried 800-IBM-SERV, they said it's not them, try marketing.
The screen says to contact marketing, they said it's not them, try IBM-SERV.
I spent quite a bit of time on the phone at 800-IBM-4YOU, and they said they didn't know, try marketing.
Anyone know the *real* answer?
