Rob, Library lists (at least when using the HitSoftware OLE/DB drvier) are driven from the job description of the user profile you use to login. We use multiple user profiles with multiple library lists all the time. -Walden ------------ Walden H Leverich III President Tech Software (516)627-3800 x11 WaldenL@TechSoftInc.com http://www.TechSoftInc.com -----Original Message----- From: rob@dekko.com [mailto:rob@dekko.com] Sent: Monday, November 19, 2001 2:22 PM To: midrange-l@midrange.com Subject: Re: Changing column names? Reeve, Correct me if I am mistaken here. But the original argument was against ODBC wasn't it? There was a part of your argument in which you state <snip> Files moving to other libraries...well, what are library lists for? <endsnip> First of all there is no concept of a library list in C/S programming. You have to bury that in your connector. And yes libraries change all the time. We have numerous divisions. When we create a new division we do not want to change connectors on a load of PC's. Or even if you have the classic test/production library environments, you'll have this issue.
