Walden: I can't dispute what you say since I haven't used that driver and I can think of a couple possible techniques for accomplishing it. But it seems it would have to add overhead that would be unacceptable to many. The provider's website claims that standard server connections are used and that _no_ software needs to be installed on the server. This means that the middleware piece must be either parsing all requests to locate object names and resolving all necessary object references for the connecting user (maybe by some kind of remote program calls to APIs to retrieve the job description for the user, then extracting the library list and then retrieving the object library) and modifying the requests on the fly or somehow setting the library list for the server jobs that service each request (and of course keeping track so it knows when a given request for a given user might be serviced by a different server instance which would require setting the library list again; possibly also tracking when a *USRPRF or *JOBD is changed so that a different library list is needed). This is an impressive piece of middleware. Now I have to try this out just to see what happens. Tom Liotta On Tue, 20 November 2001, "Walden H.
