This is a post from a VB/SQLServer database list. I was wondering if the current glut of developers in the marketplace has had an effect on the midrange scene. thanks in advance Dave I do contract work in the Dallas area. I have never had any down time between contract jobs. I looked as if I was going to get laid off on July 1. (I have been here for a year). My contract was extended two weeks. Finally I took a pay cut and am only working 30 hours per week. It was noted, in the paper, that there have been 7500 IT lay offs in the Dallas/Ft Worth area in the past 6 months. From the time I was notified my contract would end, May 1, until today I have had one interview. I do have another in an hour and a half. Before, I was always offered at least two positions before deciding one the one I wanted. I am interviewing for a job that will amount to about a 40% pay cut. Sounds like a lot but, it beats having a high hourly rate and no hours. +--- | This is the Midrange System Mailing List! | To submit a new message, send your mail to MIDRANGE-L@midrange.com. | To subscribe to this list send email to MIDRANGE-L-SUB@midrange.com. | To unsubscribe from this list send email to MIDRANGE-L-UNSUB@midrange.com. | Questions should be directed to the list owner/operator: david@midrange.com +---
