Chris, Yes the 400 issuing the RUNRMTCMD has the AS-RMTCMD host server listening on port 8475. The crux of the matter is I don't know anything about the Flex OS operating system on the 4690's (another company installed those), and how to start (or even if there IS) a daemon task to listen for remote commands. ...Neil Chris Bipes <chris.bipes@Cross-check.com> Sent by: owner-midrange-l@midrange.com 2001/07/18 14:59 Please respond to MIDRANGE-L To: "'MIDRANGE-L@midrange.com'" <MIDRANGE-L@midrange.com> cc: Subject: RE: 400 to 4690 POS Store Controller Actually you need to have this host server running to submit remote commands from one AS400 to another. It really has nothing to do with Client Access. As the pc world calls it, it is a DAEMON for the 400. Give it a try and see if it works. The other is to submit command via the DDM/DRDA server at port 443. There is also the command part of FTP. Any of these options available to you? What port does the PC DAEMON listen at? Do you have that port listening on your 400? Spit tin in the wind at this point. Christopher K.
