Lets take this a step further.  One of the hot items out there today is
a network appliance.  Storage, Server, Web or whatever.  NO GUI or
command line directly available.  It is managed by a GUI program on a
client computer (Some can also be managed by telnet).  This is "Modern"
to many people.  Using Ops-Nav the AS400 can therefore be considered on
the cutting edge of Servers/Network appliances with the ability to scale
to one of the largest servers in the world.  Why waster server power on
GUI - that's what PC's are for.  Oh and it also can be used for
heads-down high speed data entry.

AS400 - everything else is trying to catch up !
