I'm not sure why you need to go this big but ....

Have you talked to your IBM rep?  (yeah I know _what_ IBM rep!)

When I worked in the Toronto Lab they had a number of vision impaired
folks.  I know the same situation exists in Rochester.  There were all
sorts of special video adapters, Braille keyboards etc.  If I recall
correctly IBM had a whole group devoted to accessibility and I believe some
of the devices were available to customers.  Maybe one of the current
IBMers on this list knows more about it.
