Title: RE: Large screen monitor

The reason I'd like a large screen monitor is because we intend to place it in our production area at various stations so workers know which order to work on next.  When they are done with their part of that order, they will scan it and pass it along to the next station.  We need something large enough to be viewed easily from a distance of 15+ feet.  I'd like to get a dumb terminal that I could hook up any TV monitor to it.  Some stations may need a larger one while other's need a smaller one - depending on where we can hang the monitor.

I will also be connecting a barcode reader to the terminal.  Anyone done
this or know how to?  What equipment, etc.?

I'm not sure why you need to go this big but ....

Have you talked to your IBM rep?  (yeah I know _what_ IBM rep!)

When I worked in the Toronto Lab they had a number of vision impaired
folks.  I know the same situation exists in Rochester.  There were all
sorts of special video adapters, Braille keyboards etc.  If I recall
correctly IBM had a whole group devoted to accessibility and I believe some
of the devices were available to customers.  Maybe one of the current
IBMers on this list knows more about it.
