Dave, At Dekko we use a bunch of Netstations. Yes, you are potentially introducing more variables and points of failure by using netstations, than 5250. Not really a significant amount. For example they both have local configurations. The host configuration is done using the universal client - the browser. The fact that you need to have *SECADM to do some trivial configuration is upsetting - (yes *SECADM and not just *IOSYSCFG). I've not tried any 'oversize' monitors on a netstation. If you have one you want to try you can lug it over here and we can see if we can get it working. dleland@Harter.com on 07/31/2000 11:30:33 AM Please respond to MIDRANGE-L@midrange.com@Internet To: MIDRANGE-L@midrange.com@Internet cc: Fax to: Subject: RE: Large screen monitor Why do you say it will work much better than a twinax attached dumb terminal? I currently only have twinax running to this area. Also, I don't particularly want a PC based reader - I've never used them and I want to have the scanned information available to the AS/400 session. Wouldn't I be introducing more variables & points of failure by going the Netstation route?
